The Life & Arts Festival is a multi-discipline arts festival that invites visitors to experience all that life and the arts have to offer. Initiated by the City of Kelowna as a multi-day festival that would be a signature event for the city to recognise and showcase the arts and the City's burgeoning Cultural District to the community and the region and in the long range to grow to be a destination draw for the cultural visitor.

The Festival presents a diverse set of experiences and opportunities through partnerships with other artists, arts groups, businesses and stakeholders in the community. Music, live theatre, street performances, dance, visual arts, a lantern festival, the spoken word and multiculturalism are all part of the inclusive programming and experiences showcased at the Festival annually on the Mothers Day weekend in May. The Festival is family friendly with most programming suitable for multi-generations of a family to attend together. The Festival is strong on experiential programming that allows the Festival goer to experience, get close-to, and learn about a variety of art forms from the artists themselves and by doing and participating.
The Life & Arts Festival was launched in 2004 and has experienced fantastic growth in the first four years. In 2007 over 250 arts groups, artists and performers participated in the Festival and attendance numbers were estimated at over 18,000 people.
